Country: Afghanistan
Fiscal Year: 2012 Agency: USAID Audit Report Available: No Description: Afghanistan is a diverse but traditional society where opportunities for women are limited by poverty, low levels of literacy and education, societal ideology, and traditional forms of social and political organization. USAID/Afghanistan plays a leading role in implementing the U.S. Government’s civilian strategy for assistance to women in Afghanistan in the areas of health, education, and economic development.
